Since 2008, this blog has been digging through old newspapers, county histories, family photos, and community memories to piece together the stories of the people, businesses, churches, and events that shaped Rich Hill — from its coal-mining boom years to the present day. Phone tower coming down
Work began this week on dismantling the KLM Telephone company microwave tower.The tower was erected in 1983 to meet the needs of area telephone customers.
Use of the tower was discontinued several years ago when the company began using fiber optics.
The tower will be dismantled and removed and removed from the site.
